Setting - Best Setting for First Trip?

A buddy of mine recently got 1/4 oz of shrooms. Not sure exactly
what kind, i've yet to see them. But say me and him were going to do
them together, what would be the ideal enviroment? Neither of us
has done shrooms before. We are both living at home and commuting
to college, so vegging out at our houses isn't an option either.
I'd really like to get away from my house when we do them because I
don't know how i'll react, and if i'm trippin' balls i'd rather not be
around my family. Any suggestions?

Well we both have about 2 months until college starts back up, and we
are located in michigan. So we'll have nice weather, and we can
choose a park or something. I'd like to choose a nice big park
though so we can get away from everyone, not a dinky park. One
with woods and shit.

WEll do your parenst know/allow you to drink when i was younger i always had empty alchohol containers in the room just in case as an aliby (sp) or go camping rent a hotel/motel room, but i would recomend a familiar enviroment or at least a very safe one, a park or forset might be scary.

Well I'm 22 so yeah they allow me to drink. Camping sounds like it might be a good idea too.

Camping is a great environment. A nice roaring fire is great to look at, and fun to play with.

Fires are awesome even when i'm not tripping. I think i'm going to try
and organize a camping trip, like a friday night through sunday morning
type of deal, and we'll do the shrooms on saturday so we have all
day. I'll report back in this thread how it goes.

Ok we went camping. I was told that 1/8 might be too much to
handle. So we each ate 1/2 of our 1/8. Right after that
someone had the idea to go to the beach since it was like 90*. So
we did that. I didn't really TRIP, it was more like being mildly
high the whole time. We didn't want to bring the mushrooms with
us to the lake so we just left them. then we took the other half
when we got back. Then a few hours later we had a fire, and ended
up smoking alot of pot. I don't know if it was the mushrooms
mixing with the pot, or just the fact that i smoked 3-4 times more than
i normally do, but by 2am i was having audio hallucinations, and it was
scaring the shit out of me. Pitch black and I was the last one at
the camp fire. I kept hearing dogs and coyotes howl, and sounded
like somone or something was trying to sneak up on me. I shrugged
it off the first few times, but then decided i should just get to
bed. But before that I was having a great time. I really
understand what people say when they talk about using the drugs for a
spiritual quest, and to bond with the earth. Next time however I
won't be afraid to eat the whole 1/8 at once so i can feel the effects
of the mushrooms much harder.

My first shroom trip was on the Rio Grande river on a five day canoe trip with three other friends. It was amazing.

Every bad trip I've had has been indoors except for at a few select friends houses. So I'd say anywhere outside where there's pleanty of open breathing room to expand that mushroom induced higher conscience in will do the trick...even just having a good invironment to come up on the shrooms in is good, once you get the hang of the trip walking and talking to people around town can be very fun.


P.S. Sklander, I lived practicaly on the Rio Grande as a kid in New Mex Albuq., where you at mang?

That said ...... It dosn't necessarily have to be outside, but it should be somepleace comfortable. I would actually recomend for a first trip a friends home who is not living with his folks. A nice house or apartment is a good safe place to start a trip. If all is going well then you can venture out into the big world!!Edited by: Softrat

i agree with softrat, for the first time you really need a place thats comfortable. At least that way if things go bad you can put on a funny movie (i recommend goldmember) and have a warm cup of tea. Theres lots of things you can use as distractions.


I've had a few mates freak out in the forrest. It can get pretty nastyand your stuck out there till you can drive home.

For your first trip you want to be in a familiar place where you are
totally comfortable with everything. My best trips have always
been in my own basement. I love laying out on the couch with the
ipod visual thingy hooked up to the big screen with the pink floyd
playin. Ive had some incredible trips down their. But ive had
some horrible trips when i went out into environments where i was
uncomfortable. Pick a smart place and you should have a good
time. (the woods or a park does not seem like it would be fun to
trip at, although thats just my opinion)

If you have never tripped it is important to at least start the experience in a place that you feel comfortable. It is hard to predict how a person, including yourself, will respond to psychedelic drugs if they have never done them before.Edited by: Dogears
