Swim reads alot about filters on this site the cotton swab things, swim has never heard of this befor or used one, yet has used IV H plenty of times, what exactly is a filter, why hasn't SWIM heard of one, and how much danger is SWIM putting himself in by not using one?

Uh, quite a bit of danger. Its common practice to tear off a small piece of cotton off and drop it into your heroin/water solution, and then you stick the pin of the syringe into the cotton to suck up all the liquid. This filters out most things that shouldn't be going into your veins. The solution should also be boiled briefly to remove any bacteria and impurities, though not all IV users cook their dope. It sound like swiY should check some of the other threads that are posted on this forum about safe IVing practices and harm reduction.

yes it is very important to filter swiy's dope, otherwise small solid particles can get into the veins and block them very dangerous! swim would highly advise swiy to use a small peice of cotton to filter, even if nothing bad has happened before swim used all kinds of dangerous iv practices in the past without harm, but once she found out the risks she changed her practices, and has remained fairly safe.

Should a filter be used when shooting Hydromorphone? Swim always thought the stuff floating in the batch of either H or D was bits of the drug, if i suck it in and out of the syringe like 20 times it all diludes, or atleast looks like it does.

yes any drug that is banged NEEDS to be filtered.. with dope it should be cooked first. heroin hcl is soluable in water, and if swiy indeed lives in the us, thats what he has, unless swiy are in the west and have black tar. swim doesnt know anything about that though- anything left floating in the water after its cooked is NOT heroin its cut and very dangerous. this is true for pills as well hydromorphone is also soluable in water. pills should even be double filtered because the fillers in pills are very dangerous for swiy to shoot

Especially pills. Anything that goes into your veins needs to be filtered.

Where swim comes from the local exchange gives out sterile wrapped cooking cups which contain a small filter which swim rips in half and uses a samll ball of the cotten inside to filter his stuff. Swims found all sorts of dodgey looking shite in the bottom of his pan so filtering is ABSOLUTLY essential if your going to inject especialy if your banging up pillls(wtf)!!!!

unperfumed cotton, tampons work good (but not those weird pads with desiccants in them)

There are big problems already seen "in" Cocaine-Abuser,
(in Europe we always use a Filter for Heroin, but many Cocaine-User don`t do)
They can get a Infection inside of the Heart Valve!


I will look for futher Infos about H.4 Abuser and their Heartproblems maybe later.

We should not forget that this tiny particle also are a reason for Brain-Strokes!

You know, Sway was just wondering to herself if a piece of an unperfumed tampon would be good to use as a filter. Its probably ideal, in fact, since its made in such a way that the cotton doesn't break down (thus reducing the risk of TSS in women) and is sterile. Plus, they can be carried around without making the user look suspicious at all.

Not if the particuler swiyer is a male then he arouses all sorts of dodey suspesions, saying that i know a few male friends that get a bit pms-ie sumtimes!

Yeah filters are extremely important when shooting any drug and should always be used. From now on swim should diffidently use one.
