Combinations - Lithium + MDMA

A while ago I've been diagnosed with a bipolair disorder. My treating
physician thought it would be a good idea to use Lithium carbonate to
cope with this problem.

I use MDMA every now and then (< once a 2 months) in moderate dosages (< 150 mg on a night).

After some time I decided I could use a little break and did some MDMA
with a friend of mine. I did some researche on the internet, but could
only find information about lithium and cocain/ amphetamine. It seemed
like these combinations had no dangerous contraindications. The only
thing that could happen would be a lessened high according to some
documentation that I found. Keeping in the back of my mind that MDMA is
in base an amphetamine, I thought I would be pretty safe.

I had good pills (labtested @238 mg(!)). I took 1/2 that evening and
had all the physical effects, but the empathy wasn't there. I am sure
this was the Lithium, because my friend was rolling his ass of from the
other half of the tablet. The day after was even worse. Normally I have
virtually no crash. This time my vision was blurry, my stomach was
rebelling, I had a splitting headache e.g. I am sure this was caused by
the combination Lithium + MDMA. It has been 3 days since the experience
and I have discontiuned my lithium use, because it had (next to this) a
lot of adverse side effects I was experiencing in the weeks before
(including memory loss, disorientation, frogetfullness, blurry vision,
nausea). Slowly the ill effects are going away.



So kids, don't combine lithium carbonate with MDMA, you'll be throwing
away some good MDMA and have a couple of pretty f**** up days.
