Re: Paypal donations are now possible.
Paypal is not available at present Jesse, but Honourableone can tell you more about what other methods can be used, or good ol' euros/dollars by post would do!
![]() Here's a shameless reminder of the 'donating' thread with address details etc: http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=47998

Re: Paypal donations are now possible.
It seems that Alertpay moneybookers and Google Checkout will be possible. These payment gateways open up other payment methods as well. More info soon.

Re: Paypal donations are now possible.
Alfa, on some pages it lists €40 as the amount for a year, & in others it says €50 - which is correct? I assume the larger amount, but just want to be certain. *grin*
Would it be safe to say that the Donating FAQ will always be the most up-to-date regarding donations? Meaning (with luck), it's the first place to be updated when anything changes re:donations? ~Kailey |

Re: Paypal donations are now possible.
€50 is the amount for a year. I will check out the donations page and make sure that its up to date, as soon as the new payment options are online.

Re: Paypal donations are now possible.
Banana, the problem is with paypal, not with H1. He's a trustworthy guy.
![]() Paypay is trigger-happy when it comes to freezing accounts and seizing funds. There are various issues with an account for purposes other than making purchaes online (like eBay), and H1 is trying to sort them out. Quote:

Hey Richi, I know that very well, I love him to bits.
I thought that the issue may have been with the account type or whatever... not that Paypal were being arses again... which they are very good at being. |

Yes indeed, couldn't help but to flatter him a little bit, but yeah I think the problem is with the nature of paypal and how it operates. Perhaps PM him if you're able to help him sort it out.

Re: Paypal donations are now possible.
Paypal just likes to run with the money, if they find a reason to block your account. Log in from anther IP, transfer more than you usually do, accidentally tick a wrong box, or send / receive from the wrong person and they 'limit' your account. This means that you can only receive money, but not send. When you sign up to Paypal, you agree this this thievery.
If it wasn't the case that most people use paypal, I would not be interested in it at all. But I am happy that there are plenty of alternatives like alertpay, moneybookers and Google Checkout. Honourableone has made these options available for us. |

Re: Paypal donations are now possible.
WOW Alfa, theres no end of problems with this paypal thing, it must be really getting annoying for the Alfa and the Honourableone.
The issue is, as already stated, that so many people use paypal so its a necessary evil. What sort of paypal account are you using? Personal, premier or buisiness? I use paypal every day for work but its an ebay shop so D-F may encounter very different problems to the ones that I've had to deal with. If I can be of any help please PM me. |

. I'm actually paying the donation for someone who payed money into the paypal account after it got closed (which I won't do again so late after the event especially seeing as I am currently living off of my savings), and I've had to pay for other shortcomings as well (though I don't mind so much because I now have a reason to open a new bank account and earn £50 ).If anyone wants to donate online PM me and there will probably be a way that isn't too hard. Bank transfer is currently an option for titanium members and up/people who have donated already, and I may soon extend that to other member groups when I open a D-F bank account. If I can get google checkout sussed, I think the option should just be "online payment" or something similar, because no account is needed and it is essentially just like buying something online, which is a great donating option to have. EDIT: Now I finally have a chance to try and sort things out, I remembered/renoticed this message in my google checkout account: Quote:
. To use google checkout, all I would need is a persons email address and the amount they want to donate in euros, then I can initiate the payment (which will be an equivalent amount in GBP).

Re: Paypal donations are now possible.
With Google checkout you can also use most credit cards to donate.
I also read on Google's pages somewhere that its possible to make anonymous donations, that hide your email address and other personal details. |
