Re: Managing Alcohol Withdrawal with Paresthesia with Tapering

Week sober as of yesterday. I went to the doctor earlier in the week and got a blood glucose test done that came back normal. He said I am healthy and did a few simple tests on my nervous system function to make sure everything was in order. My eyes are 20-18 despite the vertical double vision I have been having (seems to be improving though). The vertical doubling is the weirdest side effect I have been having, but that was happening when I was actually drinking still so I think it might have to do with benzodiazepines' weird effects on the visual cortex... who knows, I plan to make an appointment with the eye doctor if it persists (might need a special type of glasses or something idk).

The paresthesia is pretty much non-existent and the rebound anxiety is gone.

I did a search on klonopin withdrawal and all of my symptoms were listed so I am under the impression that I was having such awkward w/d symptoms from alcohol because of the cross-tolerance with my medication.

The only lingering w/d symptoms is not feeling very tired at all. I have been sleeping much less than I was while drinking, but I feel fine. I have started dieting and exercising at the rec to drop some weight/improve my moods. I lost over 5 lbs already (might gain it back this thanksgiving ).
