Time Frame For Dependance?

Swim went for about a year of bouncing from one form of pain relief to another. Percocet, Opana, Oxy, Fentanyl...you name it. Finally, about two months ago, swim chose to do a taper and ended up getting it all out of his system. Swim went through some minor withdraw symptoms for a couple of weeks but nothing absolutely debilating. He was clean for a month or so but the pain just got to be too much to bear without something. So, for the last week, swim has taken about 100mg of oxycodone per day but doesn't want to get too dependant on it again.

Swim's question is this...after a week of that kind of use, should swim do a taper again or has it been short enough time to quit cold-turkey?
