Methylone: contaminated batch?
SWIM just read on another forum that one RC provider is distributing a bad batch of methylone.
Anyone else heard this? SWIM has just received the exact same thing and is now wondering whether to take it or not. Worrying.

Re: Methylone: contaminated batch?
hmm well if this is true lot's of swimmers would love a hint as of the source and know what "bad" means in this case !
My friend bob just received 2g... edit : Found the forum... seeing the replies it is likely this is a "distributors fight" following the massive advertising the incriminated seller ingaged a few days ago. But if it is not the case swim would REALLY like to know ! Last edited by Tamis; 06-11-2009 at 22:58. |

Re: Methylone: contaminated batch?
If anyone does has any real information it should be privately messaged to the forum admin. Sources discussion is forbidden even hints - however if it constitutes a real danger I'm sure an official message would be posted at their discretion.
The only problem being that in vendor flame wars the end-user who is taking the risk is the only real looser as the real information is lost in the fray. |

Re: Methylone: contaminated batch?
swim has received a new batch and it does look different. the new stuff is whiter (or possibly bluer) and more crystally. swim will try to get some pictures for comparisons, once his camera's battery has charged up
hopefully the pic will attach is and is sufficiently clear to see. on the left is swim's new batch and on the right is swims old batch Last edited by shadowchaser; 07-11-2009 at 01:39. |

Re: Methylone: contaminated batch?
SWIM would recommend that you wait until more information is available. If there is any doubt in your mind then you shouldn't even be asking whether or not you should do it.
SWIMs methylone has only ever been from a single source that SWIM had used before. It was white powder, dusty, pure white. It did not burn when snorted and caused SWIM to be hospitalized. (Although SWIM did take a personally large dose) Marquiss test showed SWIMs methylone to turn dark orange (almost brown). This indicates a speed like substance. However methylone should turn a egg/bright yellow. (But lots of chemicals do....mephedrone for example). This test only shows that the powder is speed based: "indicates the presence of a speed-like substance" - on the manual. see here for the marquiss info see here for my trip report on it Last edited by Benga; 07-11-2009 at 12:27. Re: Methylone: contaminated batch?
True but they will test their product i'm sure... If this is not a rumor this could well be the end of their business if they don't react !!

Re: Methylone: contaminated batch?
Are you really sure?
6. Differences in purity proposed: The good thing about "smelly/yellowish" stuff is that its purer (if I can say so) than the really white stuff and an inexperienced chemist can really fffff up very easily because he has no control over the isomers that are forming there without good (and EXPENSIVE) analytical equipment. (borndizzy; http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/sho...3&postcount=14) Why cut into their profits and test every batch? I would expect them to tell you that their methylone is of the highest quality and tested / purified every time; thats what Id say if it was my product. |

Re: Methylone: contaminated batch?
It is not possible to visually identify a substance via a photo on the internet. If you are concerned get a testing kit. Methylone produces a yellow reaction with Marquis Reagent.

swim wasn't planning for iding, he was posting just to show differences, though subtle noticeable, from the same source. |

Re: Methylone: contaminated batch?
as previously mentioned, we cannot id a substance based on its physical aspect. and a marquis type reagent reaction can only go as far...
this thread doesn't seem to be going anywhere, and is getting closer to a source discussion by the minute b |

Re: Methylone: contaminated batch?
frankly if there were anything to this there would be more than one, decidely on the second-hand side of things, report of problems. probably more like a panic attack.
it is a lesson worth bearing in mind that with each batch, regardless of how often swiy has used a source, along with reagent testing (if available) as swib say they only go so far, have small assay doses prior to any real usage. not meaning to dictate to the mods but it's probably better to delete this thread than anything. |
