Extraction - The 1 Hour Simple LSA Extraction... With Pleasing Results!

Swim very recently decided to do a rough extraction on some slightly aged HBWR. Results are excellent and the method is extremely easy. It was rather quick because only about twenty seeds were used but I'm sure only the preparation time would be changed if more were used. Swim cant see why Morning Glory cant be used for this method either.

Virtually only two chemicals are needed to obtain (Not including extraction material), and extremely easy to obtain. Firstly a miscible solvent. Swim used acetone because they had immediate access but also felt it could be used with the volatile nature as an advantage over others. Methanol or Ethanol also fall into the category so could also be used.
Next an acidic compound, Hydrochloric Acid was used for this. Any acid will do. You don't need much and could even use a few drops of lemon juice. Only other chemical needed is some good old H20.

Swim does not have a coffee grinder so pliers were used, not the best but did the job.
Got it to as fine as they could and it was then placed into a small (ashtray size) glass collection bowl.

A small amount of acetone was used to cover the fine chunks liberally. The seed was stirred and smashed, etc.. for about 15 minutes. This was poured into a coffee filter wet with acetone before the acetone was filtered through. Small amounts of acetone were poured into the glass bowl then through the filter twice after the immediate filtration. Swim kept the seed because there would still be some left in it because it was not as fine as one would tend to like, so if you have a good method of grinding the seed, Swim recommends just throwing it.

From here the Alkaloid containing Acetone was evaporated. Swim then poured a roughly .5 M HCl solution of about 10ml directly into the dish. This was mixed well and then placed in the freezer as fats were obviously present in the solution. When the fats had become more solid and not likely to go with the solution, Swim poured this into 10ml vial. 5ml was taken orally.

And that was that. 1&1/2hrs have has passed for swim and there has been absolutely no stomach pain, nausea or any irritation what so ever. Swim can move and do tasks. So good, Swim does not need to lay there holding onto his stomach to get all he can before vomiting. Come up is very smooth unlike raw seed or water extraction. There is certainly a quicker onset being about +40min from ingestion from Swims recording. Gradual from here but always is. From this procedure Swim would say he has taken about 8 seeds worth of alkaloids from 5ml.

There is no anxiety and Swim is ready to enjoy and not fear. It is like all that is terrible about these seeds is gone. When Swim usually has HBWR they feel like they are somewhat poisoned throughout the trip. Probably because Swim is.
