Hawaiian Baby Woodrose seeds....blinding?

i have a friend who since taking babywood rose (he also says they where
untreated) now has permanent visual distortion, things are gritty
looking with black lines and dots.

anyone else heard anything similar to this? im hoping it was unrelated to the hbwr...because i just ordered 50 of them,
