TEK - Succesful propylhexedrine extraction

SWIM was only dreaming of course, but in his dream he opened a package of 24 benzedrex inhalers, and extracted them using the following process:

2.2g citric acid in 2.5 oz. dH20
placed 6-8 cottons in mixture
squeezed each cotton repeatedly
removed cottons
put mixture through coffee filture to separate out non-polar oil.
put the remaining liquid on a plate and microwaved 5 minutes on high, until all that remained was some sticky gooey yellow residue, propylhexedrine-citrate.
Scooped the extract into some gelcaps. Got about 30 caps with 200-400mg of extract a piece.



Final yield:
Considering that 24 inhalers would theoretically yield a maximum of 6 grams of pure propylhexedrine.
About 10.5 grams of PHX-citrate was yielded. If we use the ratio of the molar masses of propylhexedrine (155) and citric acid (192) we can say that PHX-citrate would have a potency of 155/347 or approximately 44.7%.

So 10.5 grams of PHX-citrate would break down to a good 4.7 grams of pure PHX, easily 4 grams if there's any water or extra acid left in the extract. So about a 70-78% yield.. Of course, had SWIM reused the cottons, or let them soak longer he could've gotten more, but time was a factor and he did not want to have it smelling up his whole apartment since he has roommates. More than worth it IMO to avoid the gut wrenching taste of the cottons, and to have the product available on hand in an easy to use form. Makes it more viable as a party drug, SWIM can probably turn other people on to it easier now.
