Drugs for self-change, thought-emotion control?

What are good drugs that in a controlled manner can bring long lasting changes in how you think and feel? Drugs that you largely have control of the outcome not for example large doses of psychedelics that may have good or bad results.

I read about propranolol in an old thread and how can help "erase" painful memories.

D-cycloserine can help in long term behavioral changes in anxiety disorders.

Small-medium doses of shrooms for self change?

Polygala root (chinese herb with possibly mild effects) to strengthen the conscious part of the brain "the will" of the individual and bring behavioral changes?

Any experiences or ideas for augmenting long term psychological changes through the use of drugs?
