How long does it take for SWIM to shoot through zolpidem awake?

SWIM has been using Ambien the last few nights. He's using it to get to a better sleep cycle (SWIM woke up at 14:00 on Thursday, so he needs to get up at 7:00 tomorrow), but if he's not tired right away, SWIM will have an Ambien trip. It's not too much-- he feels his legs moving like a drunk, he sees or hears fictitious characters in his mind, and completely looses attention span and track of time.

I took 12.5 about two hours ago, and the effects are starting to come down. I feel a little more sane, albeit two letters I just typed ice-skated through the paragraph above (in my eyes.)

Is this what happens in SWIY tries to fight Ambien? Can SWIY stay awake for all of Ambien? SWIM was planning on sleeping right after he felt the climax of it all, but now he feels normal and feels like he can finish this late night work just given to him.
