Use of benzodiazepines as effective treatment of IBS

Has anyone here ever known SWIY that experienced alleviation of symptoms of either forms of IBS with use of benzodiazepines ??

swim has read various articles and information from (probably mostly wikipedia) and med sites that basically state many patients suffering from IBS present with co-morbid anxiety symptoms

SWIM is currently experimenting with low dose alprazolam for treatment of IBS-D with severe cramping every morning / pain throughout the day especially after eating... also terrible social anxiety and nervousness that most definitely affects the IBS symptoms
