Purity - GHB synthesis and GBL toxicity

Swim doesn't necessarily use any drug, and was looking for a drug to help him sleep, due to sleep issues. He tried the alternative, somatize; it worked the first time he ever tried it, and got him really dizzy, making him sleep. After the first batch of it, it seemed to weaken in effect. And both times after trying it, he bout some more of this one, and some of the other GHB alternatives, and they didn't work. He tried everything at the health-food store; tried alcohol (just getting fat); tried X-Dream, Psychotropin, Somatomax (testosterone noticably went up, as swim has experience with steroids, but the effects dried him out in the middle of the night, and he could stay up on it, and there was no apparent high, except for extreme dizziness in the morning. So, nothing worked, except UNISOM, which makes him feel like hell the next day. So , he has been curious about the real thing, for sleep and bodybuilding purposes.

The first issue is about GBL. SWIM took GBL as a new experience to the drug, but noticed that, although the effects were fine (music sounded great, and everything looked nice; not really any dizziness) on about 1.5 ml, either measured out in 0.5 ml increments, or one shot, that there was always this lower back, kidney type irritation, and dirty feeling that came over the skin, along with irritability when the high was done, plus a hell of a lot of water need to be drunk.


He wasted about 50 ml of GBL on the first try, which was the supposed Baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) synthesis. Although it looked, tasted, and crystalized just like SWIM had read, he could keep dosing on the stuff and it wouldn't have any effect whatsoever. So swim gave up, and just dumped that baking soda/GBL mixture out in the toilet. Pissed, as he would never risk ordering GBL again, which he got in the mail from Europe. This is the only time he ever did, and ever will do this, according to him (too much anxiety).


Next, SWIM started looking into converting GBL to GHB. The first thing SWIM did was start to search all over google on recipes. He came up with a recipe which called for 120 ml of GBL, 63 g of sodium hydroxide, and 200 ml of water, vinegar, and ph strips. Swim wasted another 50 ml on another batch, cause it he kept having to add vinegar to to fix the ph, and it didn't seem like it would ever fix. Dumped it out; pissed again.

Anyway, swim went and bought 100% sodium hydroxide drano from Lowes to do this conversion. The second time around, he followed the instructions to the "t." He came up with the reaction again, with the 120 ml of GBL, and 63g of S.H.. Again the ph was extremely high; kept testing it and it kept at a high level. He kept adding vinegar. The mixture was clear, but he had to add about a half a quart of white vinegar to get the ph to 6.5 (got impatient and missed the 7.5, after adding teaspoon after teaspoon, he just poured it in from the bottle).

Anyway, the lactone smell went away, after a while, but damn! the stuff smells like vinegar. And it is slightly faintly yellow. Boiled it down and turned it into crystal. Used a blender and coffee grinder to make it granular. He had experience with boiling down with poppy tea (that stuff makes him, and wasn't an alternative). He re-added it to 1 gram of power to 1 ml of water, as a measurement. The stuff tastes like people have described GBL to SWIM. He dosed on it, about 1.5 ml, done in increments of the first dose 1ml, then over the hours, about .25 ml at a time. He felt, maybe, some antidepressive effects, but he is by no means "high." He wouldn't know how much to take anyway; he ways about 180lbs.


To summarize, the GHB is yellowish, smells like vinegar. Swim doesn't know how much to get a relaxing high from, and is nervous about losing control (he's a health and control freak). SWIM doesn't even know if this real, but doesn't want to waste another 120 ml of GBL by dumping it out. Any experience, or info would be helpful. Thanks!

The sodium hydroxide was 100% drain opener, by ROEBIC, from Lowes hardware store.
