Dose - dividing doses can be dangerous? what the heck?

Object in question: equate(tm) headache relief medicine.

each pill contains 250mg Acetaminophen, 250mg Aspirin, 65mg Caffeine.

the bottle says to take 2 tablets every 6 hours.

SWIM's mom is mad about him taking 1 at appr. 10:30 am, and then another at appr. 11 am. She says the peaks get crossed up and can be too much, and dangerous. SWIM told her that the lethal dose is 30 times what he took, which is true (he thinks), and she said that a nurse told her to ALWAYS follow the directions EXACTLY and to not argue.
SWIM is pissed, because he knows taking both pills at once will produce an even HIGHER peak, and therefore be MORE dangerous.

Please tell SWIM what to do, hes very pissed, knows that its not dangerous to do what he did, and needs something to back up his argument.
