Question on codeine Withdrawal

So Swim has been using codeine recreationaly for a few months. using anywhere from 10 - 15 T1 pills in a CWE, and doing this roughly 3 times a week.

This summer, Swim was going through some tough times including his father passing away and went on a bit of a binge doing CWE 6 of 7 days.

Swim went about 48 hours without any codeine and woke up with really achy joints, nausea and a vicious migraine (which swim is prone to anyway, in fact why swim got codeine in the first place) and really thirsty. Feeling awful swim took imitrex for the migraine and later suspecting this may be WD took 3 T1's to ease it a bit, and some gravol. Swim got through the rest of the day ok though gravol makes swim feel lethargic for hours.

The next day swim again has a migraine, diarhea, achy joints and some stomach cramping, but over feels a bit better than yesterday. Swim plans on not taking any codeine at all today. if it gets too bad maybe 1 or 2 T1s, but the plan is none.

If indeed swim is going through some withdrawal, his question is how long should he wait to take codeine again and not have to go through this afterward?

In other words how long does it generaly take to get detoxed, and be able to take codeine, either medicinaly or recreationaly, without triggering WD again?

I know he would like to thank anyone for any information, in advance.
