DXM-assisted wet dreams

I tried to search for this first, but I suppose the query was too broad to get an appropriate answer.

I've read that several people have used dissociatives such as ketamine to aid in ceasing symptoms of wd. My question is would DXM perform similarly? SWIM has used DXM recreationally a handful of times and absolutely hated his experiences (2nd plateau) and he only wants to try this if it requires a lower dose than would be used recreationally. He doesn't want to go anywhere near a dose that would hugely mess with his perception of reality.

If swiy has tried this please give details of opiate being abused and amount of DXM required to treat. SWIM has been using anywhere between 30-60mg of hydrocodone a day for about 3 years on-and-off and most-recently used it for five months, every day, after being clean for a month and this generally seems to be the pattern of his abuse. He is experiencing mostly chilling/sweating/irritability/depression. He can't shake the habit mostly due to the fact that he cannot willfully allow himself to be sick and depressed and the fix is always close. It should be said that he suffers from chronic back pain (about a 6-7 out of 10 on the chart) from sciatica and he also doesn't want to trade one addiction for another.

Thoughts? All other suggestions would be appreciated.
