Cool Xanax, Hydrocodone, and Amphetamine (Adderall)

I am a prescribed ADHD patient who takes 30mg of Adderall XR on a daily basis. Well, all last night I was unable to retain over an hour of sleep due to a tedious toothache. So I went to the dentist and discovered my largest cavity had become infected. The dentist prescribed me with Xanax for my overwelming fear of needles, and vicodin for the overwelming pain.

So he told me to take the two Xanax (.25mg each) today and two an hour before my root canal appointment tommorrow. He also told me to take 1-2 Vicodin every 4-6 hours as needed for the pain.

So in chronilogical order...

[5:00pm] Took one Xanax, and my Adderall XR.
[7:00pm] Took one Vicodin, and the other Xanax pill for today.
[7:45pm] Took another half of a Vicodin.
[8:15pm] The only effect I seem to be feeling is the Vicodin. (Which is fine by me since the pain relief is a much more important matter then the euphoria at this point.)

Finally, my question to anyone with experience with these combinations is why does it seem that my Adderall XR and Xanax had no effects, could they have counteracted eachother?

Thank you in advance for any information reguarding my question.

[Note] I have never taken Xanax before so I may just be unfamiliar with the effects, but I have taken Vicodin/Adderall and the effects seem like Vicodin alone. (I didn't need to use SWIM because these are legit prescriptions which I have no intention of abusing)
