Arrow Cocaine: Meditation training aversive conditioning

While reading another post in another forum about benzo's,
I was reminded
of how Cocaine taught SWIM some basic meditation skills.

Yes, without benzos to get you over the backside
of a Cocaine come-down...
( an experience as bad as about any
EXCEPT withdrawal from benzoes themselves....) ..

The repetitive nauseating ennui
arising from thoughts racing through your brain
stimulated by some break-down product
of metabolized dopamine

SUCKS big-time

as you lay there tossing and turning trying to go to sleep.......

SWIM discovered that if you lay perfectly supine, and still the thoughts,
the perceived pain goes away by 95% plus.

This "aversive therapy" arising from
"thought = pain"
gave rise to a practiced capacity
to instantly still thoughts (almost) without fail at any time.
(Except when arguing with SWIM's wife,
who can push my buttons ANY ole time...)
^%^**$*$*$

It should be also noted that remaining in this capacity,
unasleep but with thoughts stilled...
provides bodily refreshment
just AS IF you had actually BEEN asleep.

Because of this, SWIM's recent training in Yoga Nidra
has been quickly assimilated.

The capacity to remain "awake while sleeping"
is the condition described and attributed
to warriers and others
who become alert and fully functional
within seconds of discerning i
ntrusions into their local environments.

Has anyone else had experience with this????

Fascinating comments, hadn't thought of that before

interesting concept, would give more points if the rules weren't broken though!
