So, A Certain Mouse has been reading up on Reagent Testing recently, and has noticed that some tests are better geared towards detecting some substances than others, certainly according to the instructions & literature that come with the testing kits.
Marquis has always been known as the industry standard, & fair enough. If that is, the tester lives in, say, the United States for example. Why? Because one of the substances that Marquis tests for is
DXM (Dextromethorphan), a common adulterant it seems in that part of the world, but not necessarily in others.
In Britain in recent years one is more likely to find a pill containing
Ketamine than DXM - Marquis does not test for Ketamine.
Mandelin however does, so should be a better choice for the British tester if one test is going to be done.
So, is it worth using Marquis in Britain or Europe? Certainly, as it tests for 2-cb which can give MDMA one hell of a trippy kick, & is definitely worth knowing about before ingesting (although the MDMA reaction may well override the 2-cb), but do bear in mind that it may not necessarily give a fair idea of what is in that pill. Of course, trends may change, & there is no reason why DXM would not start to make an appearance in British & European pills. The best bet would be to use a battery of tests - the minimal amount of product is needed to get a result, so waste should not be an issue when health & a good experience is at stake.
Any thoughts or feedback gratefully received - including studies, labrat's own findings (keep it general people - there is already a site dedicated to individual reports on pills, & this is in no way meant to start an alternative or competitior to that siteto that site; pill id posts will be shot on sight!).
