Soda Chargers??

Sorry if this has come up in a previous post but I couldnt find it anywhere. Swim recently ran into an entire case of iSi "soda chargers." Are these safe to use? What is the difference between these and the commom whip cream chargers. Can they be used in the same way? Does swim need to buy a different kind of cracker, like one of the soda cannisters swim has seen online?
