Why would this happen?

I had a dream that my friend broke down 10 240mg sudafed pills per 1 bottle of heet.
shook it up every 1/2 hour for 4 hours. let it settle than syphoned off the top layer. his power when't out so he couldn't evaperate it for like 3 days. when he finnaly did evaperate it, it was goopy and wouldn't dry all the way. so he dumped water over it and and evaperated it again.
It worked but it looks kinda off white now... not white.
Do you know what would cause this?

FYI:I also dreamed that it tasted like clean psuedo.
