RC side effects vs LSD
SWIM has a colleague who has engaged in several of years of RC research. From the early days of foxy and DPT to all the newly available shulgin substances, this individual has thoroughly tested the gamut of RC chemicals. Over the course of his investigative research, he has found that nearly every RC is accompanied by varying degrees of unpleasant side effects. Common symptoms include nausea, muscle and back aches, cramps, stomach aches, and mild to moderate headaches, as well as inferior psychedelic effects.
SWIM has reported that the Phenethylamines tend to exhibit categorically more toxic side effects than the tryptamines. Especially the 2C substances. For instance, insufflating a small amount of 2CB is almost intolerable because of the severe nasal burn. It is also very harsh on the stomach and digestive track. Another aspect SWIM has never heard discussed is the characteristically synthetic or "plastic" signature of the trip. At times it fells as if as polymer is sticking in the synapses... for lack of a better description.
In the distant past SWIM had extensive experience with good pure LSD. LSD seemed to exhibit virtually no side effects... only good clean trips. Not to say the trip was always positive... bad trips did occur or rare occasion, but never the plethora of uncomfortable symptoms. Most importantly the lysergic psychedelic experience possessed a much more "natural" experiential signature.
SWIM wonders what the primary reasons for these differences could be. Also SWIM is often confounded that the vastly inferior and more toxic RC substitutes have become so popular and available while the gold standard LSD is virtually impossible to find. They are virtually all illegal these days.
