Heavy SSRI Use and MDMA
Swim's parents thought he wasn't very happy as a child. Swim took moderately heavy doses of SSRI's and various other anti-depressents (including Prozac, Zoloft, Remeron, Paxil, Wellbutrin, Effexor, Abilify) all the way from 4th to 10th grade. Swim took Effexor the longest, from 7th to 10th grade at a high dose (150-200 mg) and also took Remeron off and on during that time. Swim also used various medications to treat ADD (Ritalin, Adderall, Adderall XR, Focalin, Strattera) and still today takes adderall on occasion and strattera on a regular basis (starting also at 7th grade).
Swim has never noticed any actual difference from taking any of the anti-depressents besides side effects (appetite increase, intense drowsiness) and really only took them to make swim's parents happy. Swim is now in 12th grade and has been off anti-depressents for nearly two years.
A couple months ago Swim swallowed an MDMA tablet at 11 PM. Two of Swim's friends also took the same amount of the same pill and felt some effect, although not much. Swim felt no effect. Swim took another higher quality different kind of MDMA tablet at 2 AM, the same tablet that another one of Swim's friends took four hours prior and felt the full effect. Swim snorted half the tablet and chewed up and swallowed the other half. Swim felt no effect the entire night besides the effect of the meth the pills were cut with.
My question is, is it possible that Swim has an extremely high tolerance or immunity to MDMA due to the heavy use of anti-depressants as a child?
