Extracting 240mg pseudo pills


Actives: Pseudoephedrine

Inactives: cellulose, cellulose acetate, hydroxypropyl cellulose, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, polyethylene glycol,
polysorbate 80, povidone, sodium chloride, and titanium dioxide


-Equipment-

Hotplate
Pyrex evap dish
coffee filter
small jar
funnel
cottons balls

-Chemicals-

Brakleen (red can ONLY)
TCE (Lectra-motive)
Acetone





--Step 1--

First, start off by cracking off the first 2 layers of the pill. The first layer is like a candycoat followed by a thin, plastic like shell. SWIY should avoid getting these two in the mix at all cost. After these two coatings are cracked off, SWIY needs to crush the pills down. Make sure it is crushed fine.

-Most all 240mg pills are made by the DMF (dry matrix formula) and are very hard to crush.

Once the pills are crushed, weigh the pills. Every box of pills contains 10 pills per box. The total weight for ten pill after crushed should come out to 3.3-3.5 grams.



--Step 2--

Place the crushed pills into a small jar. Fill the jar with 20ml of TCE and stir for 1 min. Make sure that every partical of the pills gets exposed to the TCE. After stirring for 1 min, pour the TCE/pill mix out onto a coffee filter. SWIY wants the pill mass to be all in the middle of the coffee filter. To do so, get the can of TCE, lightly spray down the pill mass towards the center of the filter. Once the all the pill mass is gathered in the center, carefully squeez out the TCE from the pill mass.

-There will be small amounts of the pill mass still left in the small jar. Get it all out of the jar and onto the filter. Rinse with TCE if necessary.

Keep the pill mass in the filter until it is dry. Clean the small jar in the mean time. Once the pill mass is dry, weigh it again. Any difference? There should be. The TCE wash gets rid of some if not, most of the polymers. If there is no change in the weight of the pill mass, The polymers are still there. SWIY wants to get rid of as much of the polymers as possible before dissolving the pseudo in the NP solvents.



--Step 3--

Place the dry pill mass into the small jar. Make sure that the jar is clean and dry. Get the Brakleen and spray its contents into a seperate jar or a cup. No plastic!! Only glass!! After collecing 30-35ml, pour the NP into the jar with the pill mass. Stir lightly for 5 mins and leave it alone for 10-15 mins. Meanwhile, get the funnel. Place a cotton ball or two into the stem of the funnel to make a filter. Make sure that the filter is not too tight. SWIY wants the fluids to drip at a steadily pace of 1 drop/s. After the pill mass has settled, carefully decant the NP into the filter which will drip into the
pyrex evaporating dish. Repeat 2 more times.

--Step 4--

Now SWIY should have anywhere from 90-100ml Brakleen with pseudo dissolved in it. Turn on the hot plate and set it to high. Place the dish on the hot plate. After about a minute or so, turn the hot plate down to about med or low and let the NP evaporate. SWIY will need to watch for bubbling. Only little amounts of bubbles are acceptable. Big massive bubbles must be
avoided at all cost. If SWIY has a small fan, set it on low and place it facing the dish to fan out the fumes. SWIM has heard from another source that boiling gets some of the polymers out by vaporizing it. Therefor, SWIY would want to fan out the fumes away from the dish and any source of fire or anything that can ignite the fumes.Once SWIY can visually notice a decrease in the amount of the NP solvent, take it off the hot plate and swirl it around for a second or two. SWIY should see some solids forming. If the solids are forming out to thin needle-like crystals, SWIY has pseudo. If the solids are forming out like blots of white crap, SWIY has dissolved pseudo and GAAAAAK!! Once all the NP evaporates, rinse the the crystals with DRY acetone. After the acetone evaporates, scrape from the dish and
Weigh it. Final yeild should be 1.5-2.0 grams. That is 62-83% yeild.

These measurements are good up to 3 boxes. That is 10-30 pills. For anything more, adjustments are required.
