doc sympathy
Swims having some real trouble finding a dr to give him something for his pain. He has been experiencing extreme abdominal cramping, lower back pain, bladder spasms, burning urination, and testicular pain. Swims been to three docs and they haven't figured out whats wrong yet. They've done 2 urinalysis' and an std test and also checked for hernias. Swims father has interstitial cystitis and experiencing all the same symptoms as swim. Swims father is on 200 5mg oxycodone and 90 10mg methadone a month. Swim has tried his fathers meds and they work wonders for the pain where swim can actually get out of bed and get some work done. So far the first 2 docs wouldn't give anything for the pain, but the third one at least gave him some 10mg flexiril and 800mg ibuprofen which really doesn't dent the pain. Swim thinks he might have the same illness his father has and is waiting to see a urologist. Would it be a bad idea to mention to the doc that he has tried the oxycodone and it worked well? Also swims father gets his scripts from his pain management dr. Could swim ask to be referred to the same pain management doc? Sorry for the long post. Swims just in really BAD pain and would really appreciate any help you guys could give him.
