Making them LAST

SWIM has 10 Oxy 40's and 30 hydro 10mg. She wants to make these last as long as possible. What is the best way to do this? E.g. if swim cuts the oxy's into fourths, yielding 40 oxy 10mg pills, this will take away the extended release function of the pill, correct? So would it be better to take one 40 orally, and try to take nothing else for the rest of the day? Or crush and

insufflate? Opinions, suggestions, and comments requested. Thanks.
