WARNING: Rambling
post, ahead! ---------------------------------------------------- I love the holidays! This is the time of year when days are shorter, the weather is cooler, and everyone seems overtaken with a sense of childlike wonder in eager anticipation of the coming holidays. For me the season brings back wonderful memories of a misspent youth, when resinous buds lined with tiny white crystals would stick to your fingers emitting a fragrant, floral aroma that brought forth a different kind of anticipation. SWiM can remember when a 3 gm bag came in a vacuum sealed plastic bag (remember the “seal-a-meal” machine?), sneaking out late on a weekend night to smoke a joint with a friend, and when it was all over thanksgiving left-overs were like manna from heaven. There was turkey everywhere; too much turkey, and indeed for the week following Thanksgiving, it might actually have been possible to get sick from it, except when the MUNCHIES kicked in. Christmas Holidays meant a two weeks with no school, and that meant two weeks to get high whenever you damned well felt like it. This was also the time of year to raid your parents liquor cabinet; as long as you didn’t drink too much your parents would never notice it missing because it was likely to be consumed more frequently at Christmas, anyway These are just a few random memories of Christmas-season’s high from many winters past.
