The PhD position is available to assess the effects of MDMA (“ecstasy”) on cognitive function, impulse control and driving performance.

We seek highly motivated candidates with an MSc in Biological Psychology or a comparable degree. We are looking for a PhD-student who can work independently, but also in a team and who is willing to supervise undergraduate students.

The PhD candidate will work in a research team of psychopharmacologists
conducting basic and applied research on the neurochemical basis of various behavioural functions such as memory, cognition and psychomotor performance, affect, anxiety and addiction.

Description of the project:
The PhD position is available to assess the effects of MDMA (“ecstasy”) on cognitive function, impulse control and driving performance. The project will be designed to assess the effects of MDMA on fundamental driving parameters, situation awareness and prospective memory during simulated and actual driving; and to assess the effect of MDMA on driving performance during sleep deprivation.

Requirements:
We seek highly motivated candidates with an MSc in Biological Psychology or a comparable degree. The research should lead to writing a thesis in order to obtain a PhD degree. The candidate should have a background in psychopharmacology and/or neuropsychology and should have a strong affinity with experimental drug studies in human subjects. We are looking for a PhD-student who can work independently, but also in a team and who is willing to supervise undergraduate students.
