tylenol with codeine after wisdom teeth out?

I just got my wisdom teeth out earlier today and I have been feeling fine until whatever they gave me at the dentist wore off I've been taking the tylenol with codiene as directed from my dentist but the pain is still there. I was wondering if there is a way to get a pain killer that actually works for me. I'm not trying to get drugs for recreational purposes I just want the pain from the operation to stop. Any information would be useful, the only thing I can think of is to give my dentist a call first thing in the morning and see if at all possible to get some other sort of pain killer that may work better. If this is the only way to get a pill that works I would much appreciate to know. I'm still new on this forum and I'm pretty sure I didn't break any rules with this post, if I did I will repost. Thank you.
