Ice Quality and geographic location

Swim was wondering if geographic location (in the United States) changes the quality of meth. Swim lives in the central area of the US, in a state that is highly restrictive of ephedrine sales. It seems this has worked well to stop local cooks, because the only shit swim can find anymore is nasty fake mexi-meth that at best is probably 10 percent pure. Just out of curiosity, is anyone on the coasts having trouble finding good quality tweak like swim?
