Dirty hair after detox + shave???

I have to take a hair follicle test in a week or two, and I'm wondering if thelab's claim that...


"It takes approximately 5 days for drugs start to show up in a person's hair. The new hair growth for the next 90 days will have a trace amount of the drugs and can be detected through laboratory analysis."


... is true. Does that mean that although I shaved off ALL of my hair (body included) after I waited a week for my blood/urine to detox thatI will still grow dirty hair for another 90 days? Does it get stored somewhere in my body that I don't know about or are there just minute but detectable levels in my blood or folliclesfor months? It seems awefully convenient that this 90 days matches the amount of time that they can go back with the standard 1.5" of hair, are they just saying that they can detect trace amounts at the far end of my hair shaft?
