First codeine CWE - Need Advice
Hi all,
A friend of mine has asked me to post on here to ask some questions for him since he doesnt have the internet. SWIM has a few questions relating to the Cold Water Extraction of Codeine/Dihydrocodeine. Firstly, he has the option of the following 3 tablets. 1. Paracetamol 500mg and Dihydrocodeine Tartrate 7.46mg (Paramol) 2. Ibuprofen 200mg and Codeine Phosphate 12.8mg. (Nurofen + ) 3. Paracetamol 500 mg and Codeine Phosphate Hemihydrate 12.8mg (Solpadeine Max) The questions relating to the above tablets are: 1. Based on paracetamol/ibuprofen; which is worse for you if some is left after CWE and which has a lower damage threshhold ie. u need less to do some damage. 2. SWIM has read that DHC is more effective at conversion to morphine in the liver as codeine so should he extract the tablets with this in them even though this would mean using a few more - leading to greater risk of left over paracetamol etc. 3. Generally which tablet looks like it will be best suited to CWE from everyones experience. Another point is that SWIM has never done any opiates before and so has no tolerance. What mg dose do you think would be good codeine/dhc wise ? From my reading/searching i was thinking around 100-150mg Codeine. Also, should i add 10% to account for Codeine/DHC lossess in CWE? Many thanks for all the help everyone. pF |
