took the liberty of translating this from a Russian forum. thought it makes for an interesting read to those in love with subj:
'And so it goes, even my ship ended up in a storm. Duration of fairly full-time use - just about over a year and a half. The motor (heart) was the first to show problems; a recent medical evaluation showed the following: Arterial cardiosclerosis, Sinusoidal tachycardia, Transitory extrasystolic fluctuations, Incomplete block of the right stem of the atrioventricular bundle of His, Heightened predisposition to chronic cardiac insufficiency… And it all started so magically. Yet another proof that nothing comes for free… Here’s the catch – the evil insidiousness of GBL is that while you are getting ‘stuck’ you consider the events taking place with and all around you as totally normal, things are just as they should be. No warning bells going off in the head…until the ambos began making their rounds – friends’ motors started giving out on the comedowns. And then one fine day, even yours truly gets burnt – thought I’d die for real, insane tachycardia, motor going extrasystolic, feels just like the heart is about to choke for the final time and stop. Only much later did the benefits of tianeptine when GBL is leaving your system became known. Diagnosis was based on EKG and ultrasound performed by a cardiologist friend. We chowed GBL straight up, occasionally cooked with base, and I’ll tell you an excess of base does the system not much good either. In fact the worst cardiac problems arose after consumption of the cooked batch - got physically hooked on that one after about 4 days, difficult getting off the cycle. A torn bunch of ligaments in the leg helped with that one, immobilising me motionless in the house for 14 days…during the recovery, a nagging pain in the heart region appeared, which was almost gone after 20-day treatment with mildronate, injections and capsules. GBL really fucks with kidney function, a slight excess of potassium could cause a crisis. Current pharmsupport for maintaining a semblence of function: Bisoprolol, Verapamil, Stablon, benzos. Otherwise, massive uncontrollable tachycardia, straight through the roof, right about breakfast time. What is G you ask? Hit the search. Not much more than an industrial solvent, a small epoch in my (and I venture others) life, a substitute for energy, a simultaneous stimulant and relaxant. I remember someone writing, ‘Sunshine in a plastic cup’..." |
