Preface/Disclaimer: So anyway, this is just the anecdotal report from one person.. ME, so clearly the results will be different per person. The clouds have not been proving to be a "trigger" any more than anything else in everyday life for me and I'll take what I can get trying to get through my first year off of meth. This is a purely psychological occurrence as there is nothing in an E-Cig that isn't in a regular cigarette, in fact there is MUCH LESS in an e-cig than tobacco cigarette but once again.... purely psychological.
For those of you who prefer(ed) to smoke meth over any other ROA and have found that one of the hardest parts of quitting (or the comedowns when you're going without) is not missing the drug itself, but rather, missing the act of smoking... THIS IS FOR YOU!
I recently bought a Blu e-Cig and have found it to be fucking incredible at stress relief/mood increase simply because the clouds (water vapor! not smoke) remind me EXACTLY of good old meth clouds... the likes of which I havent blown in almost a year. After associating the strength of psychological addiction to a drug like meth with a certain kind of smoke/coud density the smoking of cigarettes or weed or really anything else which doesn't blow cumulus-fucking-clouds is just not as fun to smoke and all ends up getting compared to meth in my head.
That is simply not the case here.. for the simple reason that the experience of the blowing of E-cig clouds is very much indistiguishable from that of blowing meth clouds... hands down best replacement for just the smoking experience that i've tried without having to feel like I've relapsed into smoking amphetamines/stimulants. I'm not generalizing smoking stimulant drugs as "bad" or anything, I just have quite a tendency to binge so I prefer to steer clear. Anyway If anyone else has experienced the relief this technology has provided me with.. share it here. I'm very interested. If no one has, someone try it and get back to me. I provided pics so you would all realize how similar to meth we're talking here.
Best part is... theyre cheap as shit for replacement cartridges which equal OVER one pack of cigarettes EACH in nicotine content and is advertized as "containing 250 puffs" per cartridge. This number has proven to be over 300 for me personally and I'm taking meth sized hits so they seem to be making the number seem more modest than it is. This is possibly to make the consumer feel like they've won something when it lasts way longer than it says (which I admittedly do). lol Did I mention that they come in 4 or 5 different potencies, the lowest strength actually being totally free of ANY nicotine at all. Awesome.
So here are the pictures... please comment on using e-cigs as a coping mechanism for the behavioral aspects of meth smoking and it's potential negatives vs. positives. Really want to read people's input on the subject.
Well I think they're an excellent substitute for the 'oral behavior' that became such a habit for me, both with cigs and meth.
Although I have picked up cigs again, I am getting sick of the cost and the smell, and even though it takes me a couple days to get through a pack, I am about to quit them again anyway. I just kinda wanted to get some meth free time behind me before I tried to deny myself anything else!
I dunno about the whole cloud thing, dude, cos tbh, I never really got it. I mean, years of pot smoking taught me that blowing out loads of smoke was "bad", so I can't say the size of my vapor cloud had much to do with my addiction.
But I am glad you mentioned it, as its not something I had consciously thought might help me with my cravings, so think I may go e-cig shopping later!!

Yes I can relate... I am working on procuring some non-psychoactive substance (at least when smoked) that would fully replicate the subjective experience of smoking methamphetamine without any high out of an "oil burner" (glass dick). As in... melt, smoke, blow out HUGE cloud, recrystallize, repeat, and maybe throw some scraping and cracking-back in there with it. Sounds like that would be a good replacement.. The e-cig is my current fix until I can start doing little chemistry experiments with crystals (probably DMAA not meth) inside a pipe again. Smoking crystals is so fun! Well... no it isn't but I am still quite addicted to crystal meth although not actively using so for me personally I still view the smoking as fun ONLY because.. to be honest.. of how euphoric the meth was making me feel and the association with crystals and smoking them that doesn't seem to be going away no matter how much further I get from my addiction to meth. My (not active) addiction is clearly much more manageable today than the day I quit obviously but if anything the craving to find other crystals to kick back and smoke has only gotten worse ....Strange.
I watch videos of people smoking meth on youtube occasionally, it's like porn for me.

Unfortunately not, as source discussion is against the rules but without getting too specific, the brand is Blu e-cigs and they sell disposable ones at most gas stations in the US. A google search will get you all the info. you need on it.

This is the first time i've used the site for more than a 10 minute time period in a couple of days so it's nice to see some homies I know (lol) commenting on some threads I started.. makes me feel welcome. Also, lady_reason just got the rechargable Blu e-cig starter kit and I attatched a picture to show that the smoke looks about the same if not MORE meth like than the disposable (as well as how lucky of a man I am haha). It should be mentioned that most of the flavors besides methol are difficult to take large rips of without coughing due to the heat of the vapor, the soothing of the menthol couteracts the heat a bit and makes it far easier not to cough although my favorite flavor so far is tied between Vanilla and Cherry.
I too, have used e-cigs, I've never smoked meth, but I'm glad that it helps so many people.
I only want to say that my blu was great. For about 6 months. Then my desk was a mess of different batteries that never seemed to work properly, half empty cartridges that stopped producing vapor, and atomizers that all looked just slightly different, and each one varied in the way I had to puff on it to get a good hit.
The best e-cig I owned was from prosmoke, although it had its quirks too. It was more expensive than blu, came with fewer accessories, and was a little shorter, but I'll explain its pros and cons.
Cons - Prosmoke compared to blu.
The starter kit comes with one battery, so if you happen to run that out of juice, you have to ****ing wait for it to charge in the wall for 2 hours before you can go back to it.
Charging, oh man, blu charges waaaaaay faster, and comes with the charge on the go case. None of that fancy business with Prosmoke, not at all. This thing takes 2, sometimes 3 hours to charge. And it only charges in the wall. It needs some serious juice in order to charge, your laptop won't cut it.
The taste. Oh man, blu tastes so good! Admittedly the Prosmoke's tobacco flavor (my personal fav for blu and PS) tastes almost as good as blu, but, damn, blu just has the best tasting cartridges.
Okay on to the Pro's of Prosmoke
Battery life. If you buy an extra battey, you almost always have an 8 hour window for charging it, because the battery in the PS lasts about 4 hours if you sit at your desk and chain smoke the equivalent of 4 or 5 packs in a row.
Atomizers. Ok, so some bad, some good. I was originally disappointed by the PS, because no one told me, and their website certainly didn't admit, that the atomizers have a break-in period of about 500 puffs. My experience was thus: it sucks. It still sucks. Man, I should return this, it sucks. Am I getting anything out of this, is it broken? Oh god--hackweezcough--OH FFFFF GOD! What the hell is this? Ouch that's a lot of vapor all of a sudden, why did this happen!?
Another thing, it "warms" the vapor. Sometimes this is pretty cool. Sometimes you chain smoke it and it starts to be... a little too hot.
Th cartridges. Expensive. Oh yes. But! Each cartridge, puff for puff, (after break-in, and tested by me but in no way is this some sort of rule or fact) lasted as long as 5, sometimes 6 blu cartridges. And there wasn't that awkward "it's almost out of juice and it kinda makes smoke, maybe?" like the blu's. These just went from a large, good, flavorfull, 24mg nicotine smoke cloud, straight to nothing.
Anyway, just wanted to share some opinions, and waste some time while I'm at work much love, and I'm so happy these have halped you with keeping the cravings for meth at bay. I know full well the pull to go back to a habit because of the process of engaging in it, especially smoking. E-cigs provide relief by mimicking the motions of smoking in a way no gum will ever match.
I'm a HUGE fan of the Joye/Janty eGo. I currently use an eGo A most of the time, but I do sometimes bust out my eGo-T tank.
I have a 1000 mAh passthru battery. This thing is FUCKING AMAZING. OMG. The throat & lung hit is amazing, and the vapor produced is obnoxious. This one thing is all you need, since you can use it while it's charging.
I had a hard time using a pookie the times I've used meth, so I don't know about the meth vapor thing, but I *DO* get GREAT satisfaction from blowing ridiculous clouds of vapor with my e-cig. My friend has an e-cig he likes, but he's all addicted to mine now that he's had access to it for a couple days. heh heh heh.

Basically with weed or cigs you need to just hold the smoke in your mouth and blow the Os which means that you're not getting any of the nicotine/THC into your system... so O's generally amount to wasted drugs. With the E-cig you can INHALE huge rips and blow Os straight from your lungs without the smoke getting less thick (visably).

Absolutely, at the time I first bought my Blu I was on my 416th attempt to quick my pack/2 pack a day habit I'd nursed for about 6 years.
I had the starter pack, the one that comes with 2 batteries, 40(?) cartridges in various flavors, a wall charger, the Blu charging pack, and 1 atomizer (I bought an extra too). It worked WONDERFULLY for about 5 months. Then one of my atomizers seemed to go out, this is where the "awkward" puffs, that, for me had been just the last 2 or 3 as well, started to creep into the 20-30 puff range.
I swapped atomizers, but both had been used about equally, and inside of a week it was acting just like the other one. My batteries, which used to last for 2 hours of constant joyful puffing, could barely make it 20 minutes without requiring a recharge. I realized I couldn't use the Blu charging pack to hold them when I was on the go, as the slightest jostle caused the atomizer to kick on. This left me, on far too many occasions, opening my freshly charged pack to find both of my batteries, that should have been at full power, dead or very close to it.
I bought a few extra batteries, and a few atomizers, a couple more cartridges, and this is where the disappointment really set in. The new batteries were a little longer than the previous ones. Apparently they'd changed their design, maybe improved their battery life? The new batteries were barely working with the old atomizers, and of the new ones, only one consistently turned on when I puffed. One battery, I discovered, just didn't work. Thankfully they sent me a replacement and a few bonus cartridges ASAP (good customer service, I'll never badmouth their support staff, you can actually get a PERSON on the phone when you call!) and I broke into them.
At the 6 or 7 month mark this was how my Blu looked:
1. Charging pack - never used. On one car ride, it bumped around a bit and activated the battery so much it burnt out an atomizer, one of the good ones too! I couldn't use it for fear of draining or even breaking my remaining working batteries.
2. Atomizers - 4 of them. 1 required the sucking power of a Bissell. 2 were broken. The last worked wonderfully--every 3rd puff.
3. Batteries - 6. 2 completely dead. 2 that lasted 15 minutes MAX. 1 that only worked when blown into (how useless). 1 that would last 30 minutes, but seemed to disagree with the 1 working but difficult atomizer.
4. Cartridges - This was the real killer. I had so many cartridges. SO MANY. And I had literally NO IDEA which ones still had juice in them. The continual malfunctioning of the batteries and atomizers, and continual frequent charging, had me thoroughly confused as to whether the battery was dead, the atomizer wasn't working, or the cartridge was out. Basically I wound up pitching about 10 full cartridges in all.
I gathered everything up and pitched it in the dumpster all at once and ordered my ProSmoke, which has its anomalies too, but really delivered a more consistent and enjoyable experience. Not more enjoyable than the Blu overall, I just mean to say that for the first 4 months of both e-cigs (barring the break-in period of the PS) they were both about equally enjoyable. Blu has the best tasting cartridges of course, but at the 5, 6, even 7 month mark, my PS (now with a second battery and second atomizer, and only on my second batch of cartridges :V it is amazing how long they last) was still going strong. Surely its battery life had shrunk from an impressive 4 hour constant marathon chain-smoking endurance, but it still lasted about 3 hours.
The PS is a lot less prone to being activated by waving it around or blowing near it as well. I found that the Blu, if exposed to ANY movement, will almost always turn on, and that is killing your battery life and wasting your nicotine gel!
Everything said, I would definitely say that your best bet for Blu is to use whatever comes in the starter kit, and ONLY that. Order cartridges, but no spare batteries or atomizers, and just wait until you start seeing your performance dip. When it does, go ahead and just buy another starter kit. It seems like when all of the parts are packed and shipped together, they work together. Blu, I think, is pretty regularly working to improve its stock, and if you order, say, a battery that has recently been updated or redesigned, and you slap your older model atomizer into it, it might not work as well. This is really speculation, but if I went back to Blu, I'd only use batteries with atomizers that were ordered simultaneously.

My friend absolutely does not do meth.
My friend occasionally is stupid enough to bum a cigarette, then buy a pack of roll-up, then packs of american spirit(non filters). His wife bitches about it and he quits for 3-4 weeks, smokes one, quits for a few weeks, starts back...ad infinitum
BUT...this friend has found that when he quits, he joneses a lot for cigarettes, and smokes cannabis instead. And it is the feeling of large amounts of smoke in his lungs, that is what he missed. He would pour out the water, put fresh water and ice in the bong, and take take master-blaster hits, cough, repeat. And, its not "expensive", per se', But it seems to be wasting cannabis, as puffing that much HAS to be a waste(especially when he has taken ONE hit in hte morning, and fixed coffee, and was high before taking the second hit.

There is an entire subculture with ecigs. A little society that uses, makes and modifies ecigs and accesories. Here's a pic of mine. I got something called a clearomizer on it. It's a tank and a atomizer in one. There is crazy stuff you can modify your ecig with. It gets to be a little hobby...for me anyway. I buy straight ecig juice and even mix my own flavors! Or I order....Vanilla custard, Caramel cappuchino, vanilla late'You can get batteries with increasing amounts of voltage that make it just INSANE the kinds of clouds you can get.
I'm such a froggin geek with this stuff. Just to give you an idea. People (not me) spent easy $200 on one ecig. No kit just the cig. ANyway didn't mean to get all geek'd happy vapeing. You are now officially a vaper! I quit cigarettes with it. A ton cheaper as you know

Excuse the bump, but I found the similarities between e-cig smoke and meth smoke to be pretty surprising myself.
I have been sober from meth and other drugs for 4 years, and just started trying e-cigs to quit. I noticed a weird thing when I first tried it. I was on my way to class and when I parked I was searching through my car for a pen in a manner than reminded me of when I was tweaking -- this was even before I noticed how the e-cig vapor smells almost exactly like meth.
It could be that I did in fact smell the similarity and was subconsciously under the impression that I was smoking meth , which changed my behavior... or its even possible that vaporizing gloycols found in ecigs (and coincidentally meth) and ingesting them through my lungs also triggered a physical response
Now that I have made the direct observation of the fact that they smell the same, smoking e-cigs kinda stresses me out since it reminds me of meth, which recently I had seldom been thinking about. I don't think I can continue using them if I can't break the association of meth with the smell of e-cigs.
Which makes me curious why they smell the same.
It could be the fact that they dilute the nicotine with propylene glycol, or polyethylene glycol.
Its my understanding that those glycols frequently end up in meth because they are added as a filler in psuedoephedrine capsules and are particularly difficult to remove from the final product.
I am curious if the similar smell is actually just the glycol, or if perhaps the similar structure of chemicals that activate the dopamine receptors would cause them to smell very similar. Perhaps some of you could rule out some of these possibilities, having tried various types of e-cigs with differing ingredients.

To amend my last post I would like to clarify that it was the regular flavor from cigalectric that was giving me those problems. I have since figured out that the flavored stuff from blu does not smell like meth at all, so it doesn't bother me at all.
