can anyone tell me about Kratom??

Ive been an off and on Opiate user for about 12 years and was wanting to try Kratom. Can anyone give me some info on it. Like, what are the effects?? and how much should I use?? and wheres the best place to get it?? Is it worth the Money and how much should I pay for it?? does it help with opiate withdrawals?? I've read up on it a bit but I would like some feedback on the subject by someone who has actually used or uses it..

Re: can anyone tell me about Kratom??

There's a whole subforum on Kratom: http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=76 You might want to read/search around there, and post/start a thread in that subforum if you have any specific questions that haven't been answered so far. There is also a Wiki article about it. Click the link/first instance of "Kratom" in your or my post, and you'll get there.

Apart from that, price discussion and source discussion (except in the sources forum which you don't have access to) are strictly against the rules. Don't bring that up again.

Re: can anyone tell me about Kratom??

Kratom basically is a leaf from the kratom tree. Some alkaloids in the leaf bind to opaite receptors giving similier effects to opiates. Kratom is not an opiate. Its effects are mild in comparison.

Kratom is mildly addictive, Theres a thresh hold of effects were taking more only gets you extremely sick ( and that's no fun believe me).

Re: can anyone tell me about Kratom??

In my experience kratom does help with opiate withdawal though if you have a medium/high opiate tolerance it doesnt have that much effect.I first tried it when on 22mg of methadone a day and even some very high doses had very little effect but after my methadone use got to about 10mg it did have more effect, not as strong as many users describe but definitely effective.Other users have told me that if you have been clean from opiates for even just a few days it becomes much more effective. Its a good thing to help reduce opiate use even if it doesnt get you 'high' so to speak.
