Re: Zopiclone (Immovane) Experience Reports

Swim has taken Zimmovane 15mg at night for many years, (I have a vary understanding Psychiatrist),Swim has always used it for Insomnia, as Swim can`t see any point in abusing it. Swims experience is that Zimmovane for him, usually works within an Hour, and Swim is a large chap (5`11" and c170lbs.) Swim can usually stay asleep for upto 6 hours, with nothing else taken (alcohol, blow etc.).

Swim was very pleased when the formula was altered some years ago, much of the nasty metallic aftertaste has gone in Swims experience.

Just as a quirky aside, and it may well be Swims imagination, but has any other Swiy`s found that the branded version ; Zimmovane is slightly more effective than the generic Zopiclone?

Re: Zopiclone (Immovane) Experience Reports

SWIM thinks that the effects of this drug definitely increase with a lack of sleep. The only time SWIM got enjoyable effects from this drug was when he was naturally sleep deprived yet still struggling to sleep, and he took just 7.5mg. Before sleep set in it was enjoyably trippy, and more pronounced than even previous doses of 30mg. In the darkness he had some visuals like he was looking at a galaxy with stars, followed by an odd experience of having a plastic bag next to his bed talk to him - he found this a little amusing because he still knew that the drugs were to blame (he didn't try and talk back).

Re: Zopiclone (Immovane) Experience Reports

SWIM has been prescibed zopiclone and zolpidem in order to take care of light but persistent sleep disorders. SWIM was used to taking Tetrazepam (50mg) for his back problems a few years back and it seems that this had an influenece on SWIM's perception of the effects of zopiclone/zolpidem: no real effects on sleep except a slight drowziness one hour after ingesting 2 x 7.5mg. No other pleasurable effects either. SWIM went on trying the medication for two weeks, but SWIM would invariably wake up two hours after falling asleep experiencing strange side-effects (restlessness and a very distinct bitter chemical taste in the mouth, the latter side-effect typically persisted for at least two days) and the purpose of the prescription was therefore brilliantly defeated - since it was absolutely no fun either, SWIM interrupted treatment.
SWIM went back to the doctor and after trying multiple types of more classic benzodiazepines, SWIM found two that actually have an effect on SWIM's sleep: Lorametazepam and Tomazepam.
SWIM now refuses any prescription bearing zopiclone or zolpidem for sleep disorder (or fun) and will forever stay faithful to classic bezo-type substances.

Re: Zopiclone (Immovane) Experience Reports

swim has been taking zopiclone on and off for about 6months now. swim normally gets the metal taste and hallucinates if swim forces to stay awake on them. Also can anyone tell swim if whilst on slightly high dose on zopiclone can find the next day swim has taking alot more during the night with out no knowlegde of taking further doses during the night. Its as if swim goes to auto pilot mode and takes some more. Is this a side effect?

Re: Zopiclone (Immovane) Experience Reports

swim found zopiclone effective for sleep but, has the heaviest and most unpleasant hangover of any sleeping/sedative drug around... there is now a lot of concern arising that this drug is potentially more dangerous and addictive than the benzo classes of drug it was developed to replace..

Re: Zopiclone (Immovane) Experience Reports

In swim's modest opinion, the world had a very effective palette of medication with classic benzodiazepines, which have known limits, side-effects and come with very complete data. Thier variety is huge and therefore their field of application are very wide. Plus, the benzdiazepines offered a great alternative to the pretty nasty (but very pleasurable) barbiturates.
SWIM has the distinct impression that new generation benzodiazepine-type product are mostly developped and marketed because doctors started seing the abuse potential and addiction risk and wanted something less "dangerous". Therefore, zopiclone/zolpidem were marketed and publicised as less prone to induce abuse because less pleasurable and also for being less addictive, just like alprazolam when it first made a big breakthrough. In the end, all you get is a less effective substance with more nasty side effects and the same addiction and abuse potential. The same is true for other classes of drugs (like the opioïd and opiate families).

Re: Zopiclone (Immovane) Experience Reports

Such a difference in opinions! swim was prescribed zimovane 15mg for a lot of years but used it thru the day as he can be quite a shy guy and it really helped him interact with people-no amnesia just felt good! swim was also a heroin addict and precribed 5 to 600mg of dhc every day for this reason, swim is now drug free but misses zimos much more than heroin swim would have used these for any w/ds too as they gave him the energy to get up and go score if he had no opiates ! swim would even go as far as to say they were his drug of choice and hated when his doc stopped all his script, he also loved visiting countries where they could be bought over the counter! even tho the pharmacists would give you a funny look when they came thru with one box and swim would ask for another ten boxes - swim also liked zolpidem too and used them in the same way ! swims doc would sometimes switch him to nitrazepam which worked amazing for sleep but made you feel hungover the whole day afterwards

Re: Zopiclone (Immovane) Experience Reports

Fennec Fox's Experience

T- 00: The fox swallows 2x 3.75 mg tablets of generic zopiclone. The time is 9:00pm

T+ 10 (minutes) The fox feels something- a slight distraction from the book it is reading. Words appear a tad disjointed. No somatic effects noticed at this point.

T+ 40 (minutes) The Fox is having a hard time following what is going on in the book and decides to set the book down. The Fox decides to retire to bed and notices some slight difficulty coordinating it's legs. Could be due to sitting and reading for an hour though.

T+1h The fox is lying in bed and feels very heavy mentally. To expand on this, it is difficult to muster up the effort to think about things. Usually the fox has problems with thinking too much when trying to sleep. Also the fox does not have a light on in the hallway (the fennec fox is afraid of the dark) but this does not bother it. Moreover the Fox does not feel that it is an issue that requires further thought.

T+1.30 The fox is feeling a somatic heaviness- rolling onto its side becomes quite an effort. It must be noted at this point that it is not a feeling of comfort- as with on cannabis but it is more of a feeling that he is 'making do.' Slight dysphoria is noted at this point; there is no real feeling of wanting to do anything the next day.

T+2h Very hypnotic, the fox is having trouble maintaining a thought pattern and feels as if there is a large black space behind is eyes that is being drawn towards the fox.

*********Sleep**************

T+9h. The time is now 8 am. The fennec fox wakes up feeling as if it has been swimming in a very very dark swimming pool, where nothing else exists. No residual sluggishness in thoughts but a very very dry mouth is noticed.

T+9.40 The fox decides it needs a glass of water and gets up to go to the bathroom. Immediately it notices it is near impossible to balance. It does not feel as though it's body is swaying but more simply, it is impossible to walk in a straight line and falls over a few times. This is important to note as a dangerous side-effect for people of a frail body as it can lead to injury.

T+9.43 The fox gets a glass of water and ***k! It tastes horrible. The fox got a very sharp and bitter taste in the back of its mouth, alike to the taste of blood. This taste persists all day and is another very undesirable side effect.

In retrospect, the fox did find zopiclone to be similar if not identical to Temazepam in hypnotic qualities. However it is noted that the fox did not have such troubles balancing and with the bitter taste on temazepam. The fox also notices that it has a lot of trouble recalling the events of the day that followed, which is unusual as the fox has a very keen memory even for the mundane.

Yes, Orange Puppy has noticed.
Even had to go back to the pharmacy to complain about giving generic without asking!!

However, Orange Puppy has never found them very helpful for sleeping. Shhh, don't tell anyone

First time Puppy took one, it was 7.5mg. He went to bed about 20/40 minuttes after taking it..whenever he started to feel it's affect.
He lay awake for about an hour. In a daze of strange colours (the room was dark, no lights). And his thoughts, he found very important to talk about but could not remember in the morning. Nor is he able to fully describe what he saw.
He went to the bathroom and found, a coat moving towards him very amusing. He was dizzy and had to walk slow/carefully.
After that, he went back to bed... to enjoy more colours and thoughts til he slept..though Puppy woke up wondering if he slept at all...very groggy.

Puppy likes to take these when he is not sleeping. He likes to use them when the thoughts in Puppys head are too busy/painful as Puppy can't hold on to any real thoughts.
Puppy also likes to stay online while on Zimovane. Though he doesn't know why because he doesn't really do anything.
Puppy tries not to move during 1-3 hours of being on the Z. He feels slightly nauseous if he does. Puppy does like to move his head around slowly, it always seems to have such a nice feeling.
Puppy has noticed his limbs become heavy too.

Puppy avoids water... the metallic taste makes drinking it quite difficult. However puppy does not mind drinking Redbull / alcohol or anything strong flavoured while on it. Same goes for food... Strong flavours!

Puppy's friend tried it with weed and got very very sick. Apparently that is a bad mix.
However, puppy has not noticed any negative affects with alcohol.

Puppy likes this drug .... especially when puppy can't stop thinking over the same thing again and again.

Puppy doesn't take more than 2x7.5mg. He once took 3 and felt very nauseous. And no extra desirable effects.

Re: Zopiclone (Immovane) Experience Reports

My Fish Klaus is quite a fan of zopiclone, even though seeing many other report's here people strongly disagree.

Klaus won't give a detailed report as he struggles to remember a lot of what happened.

Klaus' favourite aspect of 'Z' drugs is that they seem far more heavily hypnotic than generic benzos.

One night in particular Klaus can recall, he did 4 x 7.5mg tablets of Zopiclone along with about 500mgs of Ketamine. The hypnotic state he experienced included large retrograde amnesia, and various dissociated moments, and then coming back to reality. There was the typical relaxation of benzo's with a very spacey feeling, which was definately exaggerated by the Ketamine. Also a lot of almost opiate like nodding, and then coming back to reality, the only difference being he had no idea what had happened or what he'd been talking about previous to this. Klaus' friends were very amused to tell him what he been saying and doing while unaware himself.

But the experince reminded Klaus a lot of Ambien especially with the retrograde amensia.

Zopiclone is actually one of his favourite Benzo like drugs, the only one he can think of he prefers is Ambien.

Re: Zopiclone (Immovane) Experience Reports

Interesting reading all these slightly different experiences on Zopiclone.

I was prescribed them 5 1/2 years ago and used on and off since. When started uptake for 1 x 7.5 mg was about 1 to 2 hours depending on how much in stomach. Extremely difficult to type and difficult to walk in straight line also noticed mild euphoria and tinnitus and strangely "munchies" that I would feel enhanced taste for chocolates, biscuits and cakes while still awake. But once I lay down instantly fall asleep and sleep almost solidly for 8 hours. On waking would feel groginess, sometimes headaches and irritability and very occassional blurred vision. I never had mettalic taste.

Often gone with out for 1 - 2 months then take as a sort of rest. Tolerance has built up and I no longer get tinnitus or grogginess. Possibly more irritability and I think have made bad moods worse. Have woken up with sweet rappers round me in bed after falling asleep eating chocolates.

Now tolerance built up and I need two. Also taken after heavy drinking and effect is more intense and sleep sounder when mixed. I am legally prescribed these pills for sleep problems.

Re: Zopiclone (Immovane) Experience Reports

One of my friends, prescribed zopiclone (Immovane 30x7,5 mg) for severe insomnia, because of his extreme anxiety. His insomnia did not improve from the first night and always has a kind of hang-over next morning. He never found it euphoric at all, with no recreational value or hallucinations, even at doses of 30 mg. He has a high benzos tolerance. But tonight discovered a great combo with alprazolam.
Male, weights 200 lbs, heavy smoker.
T + 00.00. Consumed 15 mg zopiclone and 2.50 mg alprazolam with ice tea to avoid the bad metallic taste.
T + 00.20. A moderate feeling of euphoria, great relaxation and a very pleasant lightheadness.
T + 00.40. The euphoria seems to reduce.
T + 01.00. Consumed another 0,50 mg alprazolam.
T + 01.20. Heavy limbs, hard to concetrate on TV and difficult to type on his laptop.
T + 02.00. Feeling extremely tired and goes to bed. Very comfortable in bed and a sense of well-being. He hopes to get a restfull sleep but anyway he always has some pills of mirtazapine for the emergency 'knock out'. Wishes he had some cannabis to check the effects!
Quite experienced with downers, he not advices mixing hypnotics with benzos or other CNS depressant meds knowing that large amounts can be fatal.
Stay safe! Thank you

Re: Zopiclone (Immovane) Experience Reports

AFOAF was kind enough to let me read his journal, because we are close like that, here is what I read (para-phrased)

'I was prescribed 7.5mgs Zopiclone nightly for insomnia relating to Venlafaxine use. They give me a really warm feeling which was very relaxing and quelled all fears, and just left a contentedness. I slept really well when I was taking them, also as a musician and a writer, I found the stuff I could come up with after taking Zopicline was. well. Fantastic. I occasionally use more of the drug than I should to facilitate my creative writing, (maybe 30 or 60 mgs - 4 or 6 tablets) but I know very well if I abuse them too much, the docs won't give me any more... So I need to be smart about my use of Zopiclone.

I'm sleeping better, I actually don't mind the metallic taste. The next day I also feel more calm and less prone to anger and more emotionally stable' By nature I'm a very hyper 1000 MPH kind of person. The Venaxx calms me down in someways, but the way the zopiclone does, it's much more intrusive and as a result totally levels me out.

Sorry about the typos, bad grammar etc.. I am also on Zopiclone, and am just off too bed now so goodnight people, hope your dreams are fun, fruitful and pleasant.

My short Zopiclone experience

Hey. just a short Trip report on Zopiclone, and my experience.
If this is in the wrong place, someone feel free to move it!

I was Prescribed 7.75mg of Zopiclone recently. After being told to take 1 a night, 2 if need be i was exited to try them. For medical and recreation value. Anyway, on to the story. I'd just like to say every detail wont be 100% correct, as i cant remember the exact details of what happened, as you will read.

After taking 1 pill at around 10pm, roughly 15 minitues later i started to feel it kick in. A faint metallic/chemical taste worked its way up my throat. I started to feel drowsy, my eyes became slightly heavy and my breathing slowed down. I climbed into bed, hoping i would get some sleep, i closed my eyes for half and hour, no sleep. I was wrong.

Now the inner drug abuser in me, thought it was a good idea to take another one. Mainly to sleep, but of couse, like many of use on here to get higher. And oh boy did i get higher. Roughly 20 minutes later i felt amazing. Quite like being spacy on a benzo, but differnt amd somewhat better. I almost didnt want to go to sleep, it felt that good.

Then something completly unexpected happend. Out of the corner of my eye, i saw something move. Staring constantly at my Aunts scarf hanging on the wall, while trying to convince myself i wasn't crazy.( bearing in mind i didnt realise you could trip on zopiclone). It slowly started moving faster. The only way i could describe it as the hallucinations you experience when you start to come up on LSD(breathing, distortion etc). While i watched the scarfs wriggle about like snakes, the curtains ripple like water with a fine breeze,
I couldnt help but laugh, light up a cigarette and relax.

This is where it gets hazy. I awake to find a hastly scribbled note to my aunt about how fun it was and telling her to throw the scarves out before they constrict her. Lots of cigarette burns in my clothes and knocked over cups.

So that ends my tale. I hope you enjoyed reading it and found a little bit of info in there too.

All that of 15mg zopiclone. Crazy. Bearing in mind it was my first time taking it, if you have never had it before; i hope this has been of some help and amused you.
Take care
Peace.

Post Quality Evaluations:
Clear yet detailed report. Thanks for sharing!

Re: My short Zopiclone experience

I hate Zopiclone!! My doctor recently gave me 50 of those 7.5 mg blue pills, as I do sometimes have trouble sleeping due to chronic pain. I usually only take one, which works, but the taste in your mouth the next day is lasting and disgusting. I definitely don't trip out on them like you did either. I don't take them often because I hate the dopey feeling you get upon waking, plus the gross metallic taste. I would rather nod out on narcotics any day.

Pre-gabs give you naughty hallucinations when you close your eyes as well. Not for me thanks but know heads who love them.

Re: My short Zopiclone experience

I've found that if you have tripped a lot off stilnox or taken even more benzos, you won't trip off zopiclone. That awesome high doesn't last long once your tolerance builds up and then no dose will get you high. (Like with stilnox)

I took the whole box first time I got em. I didn't trip but I was bloody high!! I was so high for work the next day I was sent home. Thank god they were understanding and just thought I'd had a bad reaction to them and not an overdose.

Oh the taste is just awful and there is absolutely NOTHING you can do to prevent it. Even if you put the pill in a capsule swallowed it then it would still not get rid of the metallic taste.

The reason you get the metallic taste has nothing to do with the actual pill, after you take it and it has entered the blood then the blood that goes to the tongue and taste buds is what causes it. There really is no way to avoid it. I actually can't stand zopiclone because I associate the metallic taste with a 2 week outpatient lofexidine detox that I did and it was one of the worst 2 weeks I have ever had, it was just an absolute nightmare. If you want to know more you can see what I am talking about in the thread help starting britlfex detox tomorr [sic].
