Re: Best joint filler - Alternative to Tobacco
Swim found wild lettuce (often marketed as "lettuce opium") as an excellent filller. Swim usually just uses inert herbal smoking mixtures as he hates the "instant mong" feeling and dizzyness associated with the tobacco combination. Swim thinks that weed is so much more discreet and beautiful without tobacco.

Re: Best joint filler - Alternative to Tobacco
Wild lettuce, AKA Opium Lettuce (Lactuca Virosa) not iceburg MrG, good lord I don't think that would be very plesant. A quick google search will get you all the info you could possibly need on it. It smokes a little harsh, but SWIM has noted a decent buzz from it. A stiff cup Wild Lettuce tea will knock SWIM's wife right out.

Re: Best joint filler - Alternative to Tobacco
Swim has smoked common garden lettuce. It contains the same properties as the wild lettuce, but less of them. Not really worth if but a mild sedative nonetheless. Extracts are the way to go with any type of Lettuce IMO.

Re: Best joint filler - Alternative to Tobacco
SWIM just tried his first joint with lettuce replacing the tobacco as filler and he reports that it smokes smoothly and very similar to tobacco when used this way.
So, my thanks go to Trebor for his excellent advice.
FYI the lettuce in question used for this experiment was some sort of purply lollo rosso bought from the local supermarket and dried in the oven.

Re: Best joint filler - Alternative to Tobacco
SWIM used to mix weed with tea, the stuff used in a tea pot (SWIM thinks the leaves may be a little larger than the stuff in the tea bags but isnt sure). SWIM found the flavour was quite nice and would burn nicely. SWIM isn't sure how bad it is for SWIY though, but wasn't harsh at all.

Re: Best joint filler - Alternative to Tobacco
Ah! This is a question of much interest to my dear friend Higuana. He recently stopped smoking, and now he does not want to smoke tobacco ever again (Even in a joint).
Food for thought: In many dutch coffee shops you cannot smoke tobacco. Yet they sell pre-made joints. How do they roll those joints? With what kind of herb?

Re: Best joint filler - Alternative to Tobacco
Swim uses his cigarette machine to make joints sometimes, they stay tight, burn fairly slow, and work great, just cut the filter off or leave a little piece so the weed does not fall out of the end into your mouth
