Extraction - Smoking opium from seeds?

Just wondering something in a hypothetical sense of course..


Let's assume someone came across a batch of seeds that had
a high amount of opium stuck to them, and that someone was
thinking about trying to extract the opium for smoking purposes,
which no one would ever do, just a dream someone was having.


What would be the best approach to getting that opium to a smoking
state?


Someone was thinking the normal warm water and seed mix till the
water turned that very dark tan/brown color, then straining the
water from the seed.


After someone did this, someone was thinking maybe putting the
substance in a small pan, and heating at very low heat until only
a goo like substance was left.


Would that be possible in someones dream?

There is a link in there to an article on Erowid
about smokable extraction from seeds, but it seems it may be poppy
cock. Also, how would you know if these seeds have opium stuck to them?

Well, lets just say SWIM has had many experiments that show they
do..

I think that if it is just on the seeds, it should be pretty easy. SWIM could heat the seeds ina distilled water bath for an hour at like 75C, pour the solution through a mesh or coffee filter of some kind to stop the seeds passing through, then slowlyevaporate down the water until you are left with a dark resin at the bottom of the pot. There would be no need for too much else since you don't need a seperation from the plant matter. Edited by: MrJim
