Dilated Pupils.. Whats the actual reason?

Whats the scientific reason that E etc,... dilates your pupils?

i have been wondering this exact thing and i have searched a million times for the actual cause but this is the most i have found out...

- so i guess it's the opposite for dilated pupils...it is caused by an
INCREASE in pressure of the eye? makes sense since meth increases
overall blood pressure. i guess soo! that's the most i could find on that!

I have a theory but its a longshot...your body has multiple nervous systems, one of them being the sympathetic nervous system which comes into play during stressful or emergency situations. If your body is encountering something new and powerful (for ex amphetamines), it prepares the body for strenous activity. Our hear rate increases, pupils dilate, to keep your body more aware and prepared for its new surroundings... just an idea, but then you wonder why opiates constrict...sorry for the psychology/science lecture
