The Mind and Lifes Predictability (DeJa Vu)

Ok SWIM was stoned today and had a great insight that he actually thought a lot about the whole time at work.

So SWIM has come to the conclusion that everything that happens is going to happen no matter what, any decision that you make is something planned that was going to happen anyways. It's just the way of life.

Now SWIM beleive this not just because I crammed it into my head... SWIM beleives it because of Phycic people and DeJa Vu. Now SWIM beleive that the brain has all the knowledge of whatever it see's, it knows everything about a person and everything that is going to happen to that person but most people except phycics can't use this part of their mind.

Except for when they are a sleep and when people experience a dream and then see it happen or hear about it happen its not just DeJa Vu it is something you saw coming all along it just came out when you dream because thats the only way your mind can use its powers of seeing what is going to happen.

SWIMS friend about a year ago had his grandfather pass away and the day before it happened he dreamt his grandpa was going to die and that he was saying goodbye to him in his dream. Now SWIM figuires the way he dreamt of his death is by the last time he saw his grandfather, his brain must have saw the state his grandfather was in (his grandfather died 6 months after the last time he saw him) and predicted his death.

The reason phycics can see the future is because their brain has developed in that certain area a lot more than most other people.

Psychics are mostly full of shit...SWIM can show you some scientific articles that pretty much debunk that stuff.

That first bit you laid out is called determinism, the notion that everything that happens in the future has to happen exactly that way because the laws of physics are universally applicable and exceptionless. Most people have rejections against determinism because if the world is purely deterministic, then we as conscious creatures have no free will. Think hard about this. It sucks. Or at least, SWIM thinks it sucks, SWIM wants to believe that they have at least some say in the matter.

Furthermore, the deterministic worldview is pretty flat and colorless, and based on changes that have occurred in science and philosophy in the past, we can be fairly confident that the picture is more complicated than that. It always is.

If you understand the Tao, it isn't Tao.

Re: The Mind and Lifes Predictability (DeJa Vu)

Dreaming about someone who dies soon after is not unusual at all. There's actually a very high mathematical probability of this. Our dreams contain many people from our everyday life and we dream every night. So let's say you have one hundred odd people in your close circle, there's a very good chance nearly all of them might be in your dreams over the course of a few days. It's only when you hear that they die that you realise they were in one of your recent dreams. Considering that the vast majority of dreams are forgotten, this sudden realisation seems almost supernatural but it really isn't at all.
