SERVICE DETAILS
The Birchtree Practice formally known as Dr R B Olding Medical Practice
A specialist practice providing the full range of primary medical care services to registered patients, as well as treatment for substance misuse problems.
Prescribing services for substance misuse include maintenance, detoxification and low threshold prescribing.
Harm minimisation services include Hepatitis vaccination, Hepatitis and HIV screening, provision of condoms, contraception and sexual health advice.
Counselling and psychotherapy are also provided.
WHO IS SERVICE FOR?
Patients must live in the North Tees PCT area and register as a patient with Dr Olding as their GP. To receive ongoing treatment, patients currently registered with other GP practices in Stockton must transfer to The Birchtree Practice. Patients can return to their original GP practice when stabilised, by negotiation with the practice concerned. The Birchtree Practice will also provide professional support and advice on substance misuse treatment to colleagues in primary care in Stockton who wish to retain patients in their practice.
REFERRAL
Self-referral by transfer of registration or via any agency.
Contact can be made by letter, telephone or call in during surgery hours.

Monday: 9.15am – 12.30pm & 2.30pm – 5.30pm
Tuesday: 9.15am – 12.30pm & 2.30pm – 5.30pm
Wednesday: 9.15am – 12.30pm & 2.30pm – 5.30pm
Thursday: 9.15am – 12.15pm & 2.30pm – 5.30pm
Friday: 9.15am – 12.30pm & 2.30pm – 5.30pm
