Illegal rave broken up by police

Hundreds of people have been moved on by police in Kent after an illegal rave was broken up following complaints from residents about loud music.

Officers went to the site, on farmland off the A28 in Chilham, at 0500 BST and began requesting the ravers to leave.
Insp Simon Elgar said large amounts of alcohol had been consumed but no arrests were made.
"We made the decision to close down the party due to the effects on the local community," said a spokesman.
"We had to ensure that these people did not further disrupt the local community when they left."
Police said the last of the "several hundred" party-goers were leaving the area by about 0900 GMT.

Re: Illegal rave broken up by police

So in other words, the Police waited until it was mostly finished before going in and beating on some hippies?

Re: Illegal rave broken up by police

Wow, gotta love that idiocy. One line says "requesting the ravers to leave." which is immediately followed by: "large amounts of alcohol had been consumed".
