Description:
Former judge and drug czar advisor debate on drug policy. Prohibition or Legalization? Judge Jim Gray debates Dr. Kevin Sabet on the effectiveness of current drug policy at Pitzer College on March 31, 2009. Judge Gray advocates legalization and regulation of drugs, while Dr. Sabet supports prohibition and certain policy reforms. Judge Gray is a member of Law Enforcement Against Prohibition (LEAP) and author of the book "Why Our Drug Laws Have Failed and What We Can Do About It" Dr. Sabet was a senior drug policy advisor for the drug czar in the Clinton and Bush administrations. Gabe Loewinger, who spearheaded the event introduces the debate. He is the founding president of Pitzer's chapter of Students for Sensible Drug Policy. The event is moderated by David Leland, a professor of Psychology and Neuroscience at Pitzer College.
