Help with a withdrawal
My hampster took 270mgs of Morphine throughout the day last night. He also ate 1mg of Clonazepam through out the day. (Split inth 1/4's). He also took 2 Norco's 3-4 hours before bed.
He woke up this morning all messed up. He is shivering and hard for him to breathe. Is he withdrawing? The pills were round greenish with 30 on one side and E653 on the other. What should he do? Take one more to chill the withdrawl? |

Re: Help with a withdrawal
Difficult to answer this as swiy doesn`t say if he has any tolerance or is only an occasional user.
Its been a long time since swim used morphine & she cant recall anything about safe dosages, but she`ll google it after posting this. Swims reason for saying this,is because she thinks that swiy is probably an occasional user of opiates.(& more power to him if shes right)& maybe he overdid it last night. |

Re: Help with a withdrawal
sounds like u overdosed , you cant get WDs(or usually fot the.0000001% ppl wholl argue) unless ur body is used to it .like u shouldnt have to ask if ur withdrawling. but i understand how u felt and it does kinda feel like dopesick wen u OD but unless ur tolerant that sounds like too much .and unless tolerant should b careful with benzos while opiates are in ya

Re: Help with a withdrawal
I agree- it depends on whether or not the user has a high tolerance to opiates or not. Some people can take that amount and while their liver won't like it too much (among other parts of their body!) though depending on them and their usual dosage, their brain and neurons might like the effects! Someone with a LOW tolerace shuld be seen in an ER or at least by a physican! That is a lot of morphine for someone with no experience with the med. Also, since the benzodiapines will potentiate (ir incraees the effect of the opiates and vice versa), they will be felt ll the more. 30 mg. is a large dose to begin with starting dose is often 10-15 tid three times a day) , NOT all at once! Unless of course it is MS Contin which is also often begun at 15 mg.

Re: Help with a withdrawal
Hey guys, first of all thanks for the responses. My hampster is perfectly fine after 12 hours of eating, drinking, and sleeping.
He took started his dose with three 30mg pills and waited an hour and did not feel anything. Then he consumed two more after an hour and felt a slight buzz. Four hours later he takes two more but does not get where he wants to. He was not experiencing euphoria. So he takes one every hour and decides to take a fourth of a klonopin per dose. When he was done dosing he did not feel euphoria and was pretty upset so he took a half of a norco. Still nothing so he went for one more norco which put him where he wanted to be. Usually my hampster sticks strictly to hydrocodone based meds taking anywhere from 100mg to 200mg per day. He came across some morphine and had heard lots of good things about it so he tried. Thanks guys. |

Re: Help with a withdrawal
Well Swim has never ever gotten any euphoria from oral morphine. Somthing to do with the low bioavailability.. But is is still possible to OD and die so chill wit the monster doses. Maybe try sniffing a pill.

Re: Help with a withdrawal
270mg of morphine, especially if taken orally, will NOT touch someone who is taking a daily dose of 100-200mg hydrocodone. Oral bio-availability of morphine is ~20% on average. So this means out of 270mg, only 54mg actually made it to the bloodstream. AND since the E653's are TIMED-RELEASE, split this dose over a 12-hour period. 54mg divided by 3 is 18mg = each 4-hour dose. To SWIM's understanding, 18mg isn't all that much even for a non-tolerant individual.
Just for reference, SWIM took 600mg (6 100mg SR tablets) morphine orally with a low-med tolerance and barely felt any pain relief/euphoria after 1-2 hours. He then IV'ed 50mg and was immediately out of pain. Now SWIM isn't saying that taking 600mg won't necessarily work for someone else -everyone is different. It is always important to KNOW your body and your limits. The example was just given to show how much more potent IV morphine is compared to timed-release morphine taken orally. ~Picass0 |
