Is 30mg of morphine equal to 30mg of oxycotin? And if its not then which is stronger? does anyone know a formula for comparing the two?

Note to self – Must write Drugs wiki article on time-release systems? Oxycontin is an extended release medication containing the active drug Oxycodone. When taken orally 20mg Oxycodone would roughly equal <30mg oral Morphine. This increase is mainly due to Oxycodone having a high oral bioavailability <87%, compared to Morphine, which is very low around 30%. Hope this helps. Q |
