Dose - dexedrine dosing window

swim has tried lower doses of dextroamphetamine (5mg-10mg) and all he has felt is nervousness elevated heart beat, muscle tension, and slight motivation increase. He is wondering if an increase of dosage will grant him more of the recreational aspects of it and if so will the negatives also increase? He also has a healthy heart (EKG normal echocardiogram fine) but a slight tendency towards anxiety.

SWIM has anixiety disorders namely ocd and finds dex dosent affect it that much. The likelyhood of indulging in compulsive behaiviour seems to increase but the duration of said behaiviour decreases dramatically.

SWIM takes 60mg as an initial dose then 40mg 8-10 hrs later then more as reqired. This is quite alot though and SWIM wouldnt reccomend it, try between 20-30 and see how swiy goes.

SWIM finds low doses makes him anxious whereas large doses do not... go figure. This is only for SWIM however he's sure it's different for everyone.

In swim's opinion this is irresponsible advice. This dose is way too high for somebody who is only experienced with 5-10 mg. Try using 15 mg and go from there. 60 mg for most people would be counterproductive.

Swim feels the same way. Speed just lowers his anxiety period till he comes down. He gets more focused at higher doses and forgets about his heart beat and nervousness. It's pure invincibility in a pill.

SWIM had better results on extended-release dexedrine. Typically a 15mg XR capsule would keep her going for a solid 6 hours (swallowed normally) or 3-4 hours (chewed), without the antsy nervousness that accompanied the up & downs she now associates with issues pertaining to dosing amount & frequency.

SWIM experienced Adderall as being a little less "tweaky" (and may be a better option for SWIY), but Dex holds a special place in her heart.

SWIM says 10-20mg of Dexedrine IR(dextroamphetamine) is just right for staying interested during a couple long college courses. If SWIM is just sitting in class, his anxiety level will actually decrease, probably as a result of the minor mood lift. If SWIM is doing something that requires attention and action, Dexedrine will increase perceived anxiety, probably because the higher focus makes SWIM notice the actual progress of the task he is working on, usually making him feel like he is working too slow.
