Canada - Prescriptions anyone?

Swim has a friend that has a prescription from a doctor for paxil, is it possible for swim to use the same paper the prescription is written on and prescribe something else? ( photocopy and elaborate handwriting)

Can that work? Has it worked?

Swim wants to know if it does work , will the pharmacist ask for personal information? or proof of ID, or call the doc ?

(btw swim didnt know were to exactly post this thread)

There is a possibility that it would slip by the pharmicist, but it's not very likely that it would work at all. Pharmacists encounter fraudulant prescriptions probably on a regular basis, so I'd imagine they'd be on the look out 4 this type of thing.

Also they'd likely look up the doctors DEA # & possibly call them to confirm the prescription, especially if it was something like hydrocodone or any other schedule II drug.

SWIM would strongly advise against doing this because it will most likely land them in jail with a felony or 2..

SWIM seconds the other SWIM's positions. Most docs write one med/one script nowadays. That's why people sometimes walk out of their MD's office with ten different scripts on ten different pieces of papers nowadays.

SWIY wouldn't want to pay the price of getting caught on those charges. Also pharmacists are acutely aware of prescriber's writing styles and prescribing habits as they fill scripts by the same docs day in and day out. All it takes is for the pharmacist to make one quick call to the docs office and they cops will be waiting for SWIY as they walk out the door bag in hand.
