uncontrollable ear popping compulsion from speed

anyone else ever have a tic where you obsessively and uncontrollably pop your ears, over and over, even a while after the speed wears off? SWIM started doing it a few days ago right after several large dosings, and has kept doing it even after the last dose wore off several hours ago, and it's starting to really irritate the inside of his ears, causing soreness & weird, uncomfortable changes in the pressure in his ears. SWIM's usually pretty good at controlling amphetamine-induced tics by now, but this is incessant and driving him crazy!

Re: uncontrollable ear popping compulsion from speed

yes! swim thought she was the only one! some times it feels like the inside of her sinus tubes are sticking together (yeah..eww). swim feels like she is always moving her jaw around and trying yawn in order to pop her ears to try and get them feeling normal again. even after she stops speeding, sometimes for days her ears are messed up.

Re: uncontrollable ear popping compulsion from speed

Yeah swim also gets this ear popping thing going on when he uses speed, but it usually happens to swim straight after a hit, not like, hours later.

I know SWIM that has that. Nowhere near as intense as SWIY but it is very annoying and its deep in SWIM's ear too, not like normal ear popping.

Re: uncontrollable ear popping compulsion from speed

SWIM has since the age of 6 suffered with Eustachian tube dysfunction, this means that SWIM has to voluntarily equalise the pressure within SWIM'S head, most other peeps do this naturally but unfortunately for SWIM a birth defect left him unable to do this! The problem only further increases when SWIM indulges in Amph, as jaw clenching and grinding irritates the inner ear and surrounding jaw area. SWIM thinks that unless SWIY has suffered this before it should be nothing to worry about, please be aware of any potential interactions but SWIM finds that standard pain killers help to temporarily relieve the pain!
Hope SWIY gets better!?
Love to all... xxx
