Freebase Dexmethylphenidate

How would my buddy go about extracting and freebasing Focalin. He really enjoys the high from snorting and is curious about the effects of smoking. He have access to a few solvents and some lye if that would help. Hes more interested in freebasing than the extraction but is trying to be more on the healthy side. He thanks you for your knowledge
